Cataract Surgery

Cataract Surgery

A cataract is clouding of the lens of your eye, which can cause decreased vision and glare. In most cases, this is a normal effect of aging. When your vision gets bad enough, cataract surgery can restore your sight. We can remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial lens implant.

We are very experienced cataract surgeons, and would be happy to examine your eyes and assist you in making a decision regarding cataract surgery. We operate at Great Lakes Bay Surgery and Endoscopy Center, on Bay City Rd in Midland (near the Bay City Rd US-10 exit, adjacent to Costco).

We perform no-shot / no-stitch / no-patch cataract surgery, inserting flexible lens implants through very small incisions. This allows you to heal faster than a traditional large incision with sutures.

Before surgery, we will use our Zeiss IOLMaster to image your eye in order to plan the intraocular lens implant power most appropriate for your eye.

How do you know it might be time to consider cataract surgery?

  • You are having difficulty seeing to perform daily activities
  • Glare is interfering with driving at night or in bright sunlight
  • It is difficult to see street and road signs
  • You have trouble reading text on the television
  • Sunlight coming through the window interferes with your vision

We would be happy to evaluate your cataracts and discuss possible surgery. Call the office to schedule an appointment at (989) 931-2020.
