We have a Zeiss Nd:YAG laser in the office for painless treatment of posterior capsule opacity, the most common visual side-effect of cataract surgery.
About a third of eyes undergoing cataract surgery develop clouding of the membrane behind the lens implant, which can blur the vision and cause glare. We can use our Nd:YAG laser to clear the vision in a quick, painless treatment.
If you have had previous cataract surgery and developed blurry vision or glare, we can examine your eyes to see if posterior capsule opacity might be the cause. We will do a thorough examination to look for other potential causes of decreased vision, including macular degeneration and glaucoma.
